Jon created Aloha Tattoos in Salt Lake City, and Park City, Utah, to give his clients the experience they deserve. One where full attention to each detail can be directed towards each client, each piece of art, each tattoo that Jon takes on. it is after-all a collaboration between the two of you. - and that’s where the magic happens.

In 2010 Jon set out to find something that he hoped to find in Utah. Something that was only available in the Best Tattoo shops around the world. A Tattoo shop that offered a clean, friendly, and professional service in a relaxed atmosphere, where his clients could come to get great work and not have to break the bank or deal with an attitude, annoying blaring music, sketchy artists, or unprofessional behavior. After years of establishing the Aloha name, Jon Poulson decided to move away from the busy hustle of the shops so that he would be able to create a unique private studio experience to get closer to his goal of a tattoo space in the Salt Lake Valley with the true spirit of aloha. Polynesian tattoos are a form of self-expression and as a way to mark important events and milestones in our lives. These tattoos often hold deep meanings, and the process of getting a tattoo is considered a rite of passage.

Today, Polynesian tribal tattoos continue to be popular among people of all backgrounds, as a way to pay homage to the cultural heritage and spiritual beliefs of the People of the pacific.

Norse, Viking, and Celtic

Viking tattoos are also inspired by the ancient Norse people, but with a focus on the seafaring warrior culture of the Vikings. These tattoos often feature symbols such as the Valknut, the Helm of Awe, and the Mjolnir, as well as traditional Viking symbols such as the longship and the and other symbols such as runes that were carved into wood and stone some of which survive today. Little is known about the specifics of these symbols as we have few written accounts from this age.

These tattoos also feature traditional Celtic symbols such as the triskelion, the triquetra, and the Claddagh. These tattoos are often used to represent strength, courage, and heritage.

All these styles of tattoos are usually done in black and have a bold and powerful appearance. I often do color versions on the body to represent how they were once painted by the ancient tribes. They are often chosen by people who have an interest in the culture and history of the Norse, Viking, and Celtic people, and want to express their connection to their heritage through body art.

Geometric | Sacred Geometry

Sacred geometry is a style of art that utilizes geometric shapes and patterns often to depict sometimes spiritual and religious themes. These shapes and patterns are thought to hold sacred meaning and are believed to be symbolic of the underlying structure of the universe to some.

Sacred geometry art often features repeated shapes such as circles, squares, and triangles, and may incorporate other shapes such as hexagons, and other Platonic solid 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional shapes. The artworks are believed to be powerful tools for meditation and can be used to help connect with the spiritual realm. This style of art is found in many different cultures and religions, including Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism to name a few. They are almost a way that these religions can be tied together using the representation of the underlying structure present in the universe.

In modern time, these beautiful designs have become more elaborate and are used as decorative pieces on not just the body, but also on our walls, and on our clothing, vehicles, and a big part of our lives.
